Nolan started life in Missouri, but moved to Iowa as an infant, growing up in small-town Iowa and graduated from East Marshall High School. Nolan is the “middle” child with an older sister and 3 younger triplet brothers. As part of a large family, Nolan found himself thrown into leadership and responsibility early in life. Stepping up to lead, taking accountability,
and standing firm in his beliefs, work ethic, and integrity would become some of Nolan's signature character traits and personal attributes that define who he is and how he moves through life.
After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Animal and Wildlife Ecology, Nolan installed, established, and performed maintenance activities on USDA programs for the State of Iowa as a seasonal Habitat Specialist for Habitat Forever, LLC followed by his role at Pheasants Forever as a Farm Bill Biologist in South Dakota. During his time at PF, Nolan worked with landowners, farmers, and ranchers to design and enroll conservation programs as a solution intended to improve and grow operational success in order to meet their objectives while addressing multiple additional conservation initiatives.
For nearly a decade now, Nolan has worked as a landscape designer and conservation community specialist, a community association manager, and land development field operations manager specializing in stormwater pollution management and prevention (SWPPP) in Des Moines, Iowa and resides in Roland, Iowa with his wife and two daughters. Nolan is a subject matter expert in conservation, wildlife and animal ecology and natural ecosystems, and native prairie restoration and management.
Perhaps Nolan's most profound gift and talent is as a visual artist and excels at graphic design, logo and brand development, painting and drawing natural landscapes, wildlife, animals, plants, and creatures big and small. Nolan loves hunting, creating culinary delights, art, the great outdoors, and most of all, he loves the time spent with his family.

I believe that art has the power to heal, inspire, and transform. My goal as an artist is to create work that not only looks beautiful, but also resonates with the viewer on a deeper level.
My art style is characterized by bold colors, fluid lines, and a sense of movement. I love to experiment with different mediums and techniques to create pieces that are unique and expressive.
I offer a range of services, including commissioned pieces, custom murals, and art workshops. Contact me to discuss your project or to register for a workshop.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
